For two weeks, dozens of brave warriors have led warbands in the War for Hirestel, vying for control of mysterious regions and earning "Control Points" in the process. But what do these points mean? And what does controlling these regions grant you?

I didn't want to spill the beans right away because I wanted a chance for players to get an idea of how to actually participate in the War for Hirestel. I've hinted at competitive players being to enjoy themselves in a narrative setting, and I believe I have come up with a cool way to make that happen.

Starting on May 20th, a leaderboard will be displayed showing which armies have done the most to gather influence and assert control over Hirestel. Those tiles I've been handing out will serve as your marker as you climb the ranks in an effort to reign over the realm and your fellow players!

For every Sunday you show up and have control of a region, you get 1 Victory Point towards the overall War for Hirestel rankings. These don't cycle (unlike Control Points) or go away, and The War for Hirestel will have a victor at the end of it all! Points in regions will no longer update live, but rather every week you will be able to see how your influence and participation have helped you in your fight for the 10 regions of Hirestel!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! In addition to earning Victory Points by dominating regions, there are a whole host of ways to earn Victory Points!

Participate in the writing contest (you have until the 19th to email me!) - that's a Victory Point!

Bring a player that has never played a game of Age of Sigmar to participate - that's a Victory Point!

Spend $50 or more at Dragon's Lair on Age of Sigmar items - that's a Victory Point!

This and more (a full list will be posted soon) will give you a lot of ways to influence the rankings while also helping to build the narrative, helping to build the community, and supporting the store that so graciously houses our wild campaign.

There are also a bunch of SECRET OBJECTIVES that will earn you Victory Points. There will be daily objectives too! If I see something I particularly like in a game with sportsmanship, I reserve the right to toss around Victory Points on the fly like that also. Guys, I am SO EXCITED for the war as it kicks into gear. May 13th will be the final "prologue" day as players vie for control of the different regions to be the first to gain Victory Points on the field of battle. For those who don't have tiles yet, I'll have them on the 13th!
